The 6th Annual Lown Conference, Breaking the Cycle of High Cost and Low Value: America‘s Next Health System brought together more than 200 health professionals, patients, journalists, and policy experts to light a path toward a radically better, uniquely American health system.
The conference themes – High-value care, Affordability, and Bright spots for the next health system – provided a comprehensive framework for discussing issues of achieving right care.
Right care involves the avoidance of both overuse and underuse—actions that can harm patients, inhibit the goal of a high-performing health care system, and fail to fulfill the social mission of medicine.
