Dr. Graboys was a Clinical Professor of Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. He is President Emeritus of the Lown Institute, and former attending cardiologist at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the Lown Cardiovascular Center. Dr. Graboys became a patient himself after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and dementia. He died in January 2015. The account of his personal battle, Life in the Balance: A Physician’s Memoir of Life, Love, and Loss with Parkinson’s Disease and Dementia, was published in 2008.
