Kelsey Chalmers, PhD

Senior Director of Research

Kelsey joined the Lown Institute in early 2020. Prior to this, she worked as a health policy researcher at the University of Sydney, Australia, where she also received her PhD in public health, with a focus on measuring overuse of medical care. She graduated from the University of Queensland with a degree in Mathematics and Statistics. Starting 2025, Kelsey is a Scholar in Residence on a project with AcademyHealth and the ABIM Foundation on medical debt and trust in healthcare. She was also the 2025/2026 chair of the AcademyHealth Quality and Value Interest Group Advisory Committee.
