VIDEO: Hospital bailouts Q&A

Despite hospitals being incredibly busy treating or preparing to treat the surge of COVID-19 patients, many hospitals are reporting severe financial losses. Some are even furloughing health care workers because they cannot afford to pay them. 

Why is it that hospitals need a bailout? And if the government does bail out hospitals, what conditions should there be? Lown President Dr. Vikas Saini and Senior Vice President Shannon Brownlee answer three questions about hospital bailouts in the first edition of “Lown Hospitals Q&A,” a recurring video series.
